The original blockbuster Dhurandhar , one of India’s biggest box-office successes of 2025 with earnings exceeding ₹1,300 crore worldwide , has returned to theatres in a massive global re-release ahead of its sequel. The film is screening in more than 1,250 shows across over 1,000 screens globally , including roughly 250 in India and an equal number overseas.

Directed by Aditya Dhar , the spy thriller stars Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna , Sanjay Dutt , R. Madhavan , and Arjun Rampal . The re-release is aimed at building momentum for the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on March 19, 2026.

Advance bookings for the sequel are already setting new benchmarks, particularly in overseas markets. In North America, opening day pre-sales including premieres have reportedly crossed $1.8 million , while first-weekend advance sales have surged to around $3.65 million . Earlier figures indicated strong traction as well, with advance bookings nearing $2 million and India-wide pre-sales touching ₹26 crore. Germany has also recorded notable demand, with advance sales exceeding €200,000.

Despite the strong commercial momentum, director Dhar is said to be finalising the film’s output just days before the international premieres, sparking curiosity among fans and trade observers. Distributors typically require the final version at least a day in advance to ensure a smooth rollout across global markets.

Adding to the buzz, the recently released track “ Aari Aari ,” which blends Punjabi folk with rap elements, has gained popularity online. With record-breaking advance sales and intense last-minute preparations, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is poised for a massive worldwide opening.
