
From Power to Sword: PM Modi Applauds Pawan Kalyan’s Kenjutsu Triumph
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated State Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for achieving a rare distinction by securing an official entry into the Japanese sword martial art Kenjutsu. In his message, the Prime Minister said he had learned about Pawan Kalyan’s achievements in Japanese martial arts and extended his heartfelt congratulations , calling it a remarkable accomplishment .
Modi praised Pawan Kalyan for practicing martial arts with discipline and sincerity despite his busy commitments in public life and cinema. He described Pawan Kalyan’s decades-long dedication to martial arts as inspiring and said his success sends a strong message to the youth that professional responsibilities are never an obstacle to learning new skills.
The Prime Minister noted that martial arts require physical strength, mental balance , patience, and self-control. Following such a demanding traditional discipline , he said, reflects strong character . He added that public figures like Pawan Kalyan play a vital role in motivating fitness-driven initiatives such as Fit India , aimed at building a healthy and active society .
Responding to the message, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi , calling the congratulatory message a great honor and a source of encouragement . He said discipline and focus toward martial arts have been an integral part of his life , helping him build resilience , manage stress , and embrace lifelong learning and self-improvement.
Pawan Kalyan has also created history in martial arts by receiving the prestigious Fifth Dan from Japan’s traditional martial arts organization Sogo Budo Kanri Kai . He became the first Telugu individual to gain entry into the Takeda Shingen Clan under Soke Muramatsu Sensei outside Japan. On this occasion, the Golden Dragons organization honored him with the title “Tiger of Martial Arts.”
