Telangana police have carried out two major operations against illegal drug activity in the state.

In the first operation, Moinabad police raided a farmhouse in their jurisdiction where an alleged illegal party was taking place. A total of 62 people were present, including 22 minors. During the raid, two adults tested positive for drugs using a urine test kit. A case has been registered against these individuals as well as the organisers of the party, and further investigation is ongoing, said the Moinabad police inspector.

In a separate operation, the Rachakonda Narcotics Police and the Regional Narcotics Control Cell, Khammam Wing of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), intercepted a DCM vehicle near Ramoji Film City in Pedda Amberpet. Three transporters from Rajasthan were attempting to illegally transport 401 kilograms of Ganja from Visakhapatnam to Rajasthan. The contraband (goods that are illegal to make, sell, or possess) was hidden in a load of coconuts.

Six people have been identified in connection with the case - Chotu Narayana Lal Naik, Pushkar Raj Naik, Kishan Lal Nayak, Sridhar, Ashu, and Parameshwar. While Chotu, Pushkar, and Kishan have been apprehended, the other three - Sridhar, Ashu, and Parameshwar - are still at large. According to officials, Om Bishnoi from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, was involved in procuring the Ganja from Sridhar in Rajahmundry and hired Chotu to transport it, paying Rs 25,000 per trip.

Both operations are part of Telangana police’s ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs and related activities in the state.
