Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjannar has taken a unique approach to warn the public against drunk driving, using social media to deliver his message with both humor and firmness.

Through his personal X account, the Commissioner highlighted that trying to intimidate police with phrases like, “Do you know who our daddy is?” or “Do you know who our uncle is?” won’t work. He emphasized that police officers treat everyone equally under the law, and no one receives special treatment. The tweets quickly went viral for their witty but serious tone.

Commissioner Sajjannar assured that the police always respect the dignity and privacy of citizens. However, anyone caught violating the law - especially driving under the influence - will face action. He reminded the public that offenders will have to appear in court on the assigned date, where they will meet officials directly.

He also gave a practical piece of advice: instead of searching Google for lawyers after getting caught, people should search for a cab immediately if they’ve been drinking. “Had a drink? Then salute the steering wheel and take a cab,” he tweeted, encouraging safe alternatives rather than risking legal trouble.

The Commissioner’s creative campaign has resonated with netizens, highlighting the importance of following traffic laws. He also stressed the serious impact drunk driving can have on families and the broader community.
