Four Women Killed as Auto Collides With Lorry in Mancherial

A fatal road accident near Naspur Gate in Mancherial district claimed the lives of four women and left three others critically injured after a lorry collided with an auto-rickshaw carrying passengers to work. The victims were reportedly employees of a shopping mall in Mancherial and were travelling from villages in Mandamarri mandal when the accident occurred.

The accident took place on the national highway near Naspur Gate when the auto-rickshaw attempted to take a turn. CCTV footage of the incident shows the auto trying to negotiate the turn but failing to control its speed, while a heavy lorry was approaching from the opposite direction at considerable speed. The two vehicles collided with tremendous force, leaving the auto-rickshaw completely mangled.

The impact proved fatal for the passengers. Two women died at the scene, while the others were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Two more women later succumbed while undergoing treatment, taking the death toll to four. Three other passengers remain critically injured and are receiving treatment.

The victims were reportedly travelling to Mancherial for their daily work when the accident occurred. The tragedy has caused distress among their families and local residents.

Following the incident, Labour Minister G Vivek Venkataswamy expressed deep shock and conveyed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. He announced ₹25,000 financial assistance for each deceased victim's family and ₹10,000 each for the injured.

The minister also spoke to the Mancherial District Collector over the phone and sought details of the accident. He directed officials to expedite the insurance process so that the affected families receive eligible benefits without delay.

Vivek Venkataswamy further instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive proper medical treatment and all necessary healthcare facilities. He said their health condition should be monitored continuously and that additional assistance should be provided wherever required.

Meanwhile, police officials inspected the accident site and began examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. The CCTV footage is expected to form an important part of the investigation into the sequence of events.

As of the latest available information, four women have died and three others remain critically injured. The exact condition and legal status of the auto-rickshaw driver have not been clearly established in the reports available so far.
