Former minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy passes away

Former minister and senior Congress leader Ramreddy Damodar Reddy (popularly known as Damanna) passed away, leaving political leaders and people in deep sorrow.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed shock at the news. He said Damodar Reddy, who was elected as an MLA five times, worked tirelessly among the people and played a key role in the development of Nalgonda district. The Chief Minister described his death as an “irreparable loss” and prayed for peace to his soul. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family members and followers of the late leader.

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister Eetala Rajender, senior BJP leader N. Ramachander Rao, and several others also mourned the death of the former minister.

Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy remembered Damodar Reddy as a leader who worked with vision during his time as IT Minister. He said that Damodar Reddy’s efforts in creating opportunities for the youth and laying a strong foundation for the IT sector in united Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will always be remembered. “His sudden death is a huge loss not just to the Congress, but to Telangana politics,” Ponguleti said.

Minister Konda Surekha said Damodar Reddy’s political journey from a committed worker to a state minister was inspiring. She prayed for his soul to rest in peace and expressed sympathy to his family members.

Several leaders described him as a man of honesty, courage, and dedication, whose service to the people will never be forgotten.

Ramreddy Damodar Reddy’s death has caused personal grief to many in the Congress party and among the people of Telangana, where he is fondly remembered as “Damanna.”
