Flying squad raids BRS leaders’ homes ahead of Jubilee Hills by-election

Election flying squad officials conducted searches at the homes of key BRS leaders ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election. The raids took place on Thursday night at the residences of BRS MLC Takkellapalli Ravinder Rao and senior party leader Marri Janardhan Reddy.

The officials carried out the searches as a precautionary measure amid allegations of cash and material distribution in violation of election rules. Teams from the flying squad, revenue department, police, election authorities, and video surveillance units participated in the operation.

The raids lasted around two hours, but officials did not recover any cash, gold, documents, or other valuables. Only ordinary household items were found, according to the report.

The BRS party strongly condemned the actions, calling them politically motivated. Party leaders claimed the raids were an attempt to tarnish their image during the election period.

Election authorities, however, said the searches were routine checks based on received complaints about potential violations. They added that similar operations could be conducted in other areas during the by-election period.

BRS leaders alleged that the police were acting in favor of the Congress party and described the raids as part of a political strategy to block BRS’s victory. They claimed the actions were causing fear even in areas outside the election code zones. BRS officials asserted that voters were already aware and prepared to counter such tactics in the upcoming election.

While the raids did not uncover any illegal items, the incident has intensified tensions between ruling and opposition parties ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election.
