Flying squad inspects TVK chief Vijay’s convoy near Madurai-Sivaganga border

An election flying squad on Friday intercepted and inspected the convoy of TVK chief Vijay near the Madurai-Sivaganga border as part of intensified surveillance ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23 .

According to official sources, the checking was carried out while the actor-turned-politician was travelling by road from Madurai to Sivaganga for a scheduled campaign engagement . The flying squad stopped the convoy at a designated checkpoint and conducted a routine inspection under the Model Code of Conduct .

Officials said the search was aimed at ensuring strict compliance with Election Commission guidelines , particularly those related to the movement of cash, liquor, and other prohibited or unaccounted materials during the election period.
