
Flipkart launches Motorola ACs with transparent installation pricing
E-commerce marketplace Flipkart on Friday announced the launch of a new range of Motorola-branded air conditioners on its platform, introducing what it describes as a transparent, all-inclusive installation model aimed at eliminating hidden post-purchase costs for consumers.
The new air-conditioner portfolio, starting at ₹28,990 , is designed to address a common concern among buyers of unexpected installation and accessory charges that often emerge after purchasing the product. Under the new approach, the listed price of the AC units includes installation, essential materials and select after-sales services , allowing customers to know the final cost upfront.
The company said the model integrates professional installation, high-grade copper piping, an outdoor unit wall-mount stand, and a three-year gas refilling assurance within a single price. By bundling these components together, the initiative seeks to remove the need for last-minute negotiations with technicians and reduce variations in post-purchase expenses.
In the broader Indian appliances market, installation charges for air conditioners can typically range from ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 , depending on the complexity of the setup. Additional costs for materials such as copper pipes, brackets or wiring can further increase the overall expense, while maintenance activities such as gas refilling may add to the long-term cost of ownership.
According to Flipkart, the transparent installation model is intended to simplify the buying journey and offer greater price clarity to consumers planning to purchase air conditioners ahead of the peak summer season.
Commenting on the launch, Rakesh Krishnan, Vice President, Large Appliances at Flipkart , said air conditioners are among the most carefully researched purchases for Indian households, particularly during the summer months.
“Air conditioners are among the most researched and high-consideration purchases for Indian households, particularly ahead of the peak summer season. However, too often the excitement of a new purchase is dampened by unexpected installation fees. With the new Motorola AC range and its zero-hidden-cost model , we are removing the final barrier to a truly seamless shopping experience,” he said.
Krishnan added that the initiative aligns with the company’s broader goal of expanding access to premium technology while building a shopping ecosystem centred on value-added services and consumer trust.
The Motorola air conditioner lineup includes models equipped with inverter technology and energy-efficient configurations , along with multiple capacity options suited for different room sizes and Indian weather conditions. Inverter systems help regulate compressor speed to maintain consistent temperatures while reducing electricity consumption.
Customers will be able to explore product specifications, compare models based on tonnage and energy ratings, and schedule delivery and installation directly through Flipkart’s platform.

Motorola’s appliances in India are part of its Strategic Brand Partnership programme , under which the company licenses its brand to partner firms that manufacture products while adhering to Motorola’s quality, safety and reliability standards.
Through the partnership, the companies aim to strengthen consumer confidence while expanding Motorola’s footprint in India’s fast-growing home appliances market.
Founded in 2007 , the Flipkart Group operates several digital commerce platforms including Flipkart, Myntra, Flipkart Wholesale, Cleartrip and super.money. The company said its marketplace currently serves more than 500 million registered users and hosts over 150 million products across more than 80 categories , with over 1.4 million sellers participating in its ecosystem.
The Motorola AC range is expected to be available for purchase on Flipkart as the summer demand for cooling appliances begins to rise across the country.
