Five-Year-Old Dies in Kukatpally After Chinese Manja Thread Slits Throat
A five-year-old girl lost her life in a tragic accident in Kukatpally after a sharp Chinese manja kite thread allegedly slit her throat while she was travelling on a two-wheeler with her father. The child was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
The incident occurred despite sustained efforts by the police , who had conducted awareness drives, seizures and repeated campaigns against the sale and use of banned kite strings. Authorities admit, however, that no enforcement system can be 100 per cent foolproof .
While the ban exists on paper and enforcement continues on the ground, responsibility ultimately rests with the public that continues to purchase and use illegal manja. A moment of reckless celebration has now cost an innocent life, turning festivity into irreversible grief.
