Five Dead in Tirupati Tragedy: Father Kills Kin, Dies with Children

A deeply disturbing incident in Tirupati district has left the region in shock after a man allegedly killed two family members before ending his life along with his children in a tragic sequence of events.

The accused, Mohan (37), a resident of Venkatakrishnapalem, is suspected to have murdered his wife Haritha (35) and mother Chandrakala (65) at their residence. According to police, both victims were allegedly strangled using a cloth.

After the suspected murders , Mohan went to his children’s school and brought them back home, citing an emergency. Hours later, in a shocking turn, he took the children to the railway tracks near Vepagunta railway station.

At around 7:15 PM on April 22, Mohan, along with his two children, jumped in front of the Egmore–Kacheguda Express, resulting in their instant death .

Police officials, including G. Ravikumar, confirmed that the incident is being investigated as a case of murder-suicide . The motive behind the extreme act remains unclear, with authorities probing various angles.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the village, as five members of a single family lost their lives within a span of hours, leaving the community in deep grief.
