Fishermen First: Coalition’s Clear Focus, Affirms Atchannaidu
State Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu reaffirmed that the coalition government is firmly committed to the welfare and upliftment of fishermen across the State. He alleged that the previous administration had overlooked the needs of fishing communities over the past five years, adding that the present government has, within a short period of taking office, extended meaningful support through several welfare initiatives.
Speaking at a programme held at NTR Bhavan in Kotabommali constituency, the Minister handed over a ₹5 lakh ex-gratia cheque to the family of Gorle Ramarao , a fisherman from Golugu Vanipeta village in Santhabommali mandal, who tragically lost his life in a fishing accident at sea.
He expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the government’s continued support during their difficult time.
Financial Assistance to 95 Bereaved Families
Atchannaidu stated that the government has identified the families of 95 fishermen who died in fishing-related accidents across the State and sanctioned ₹5 lakh compensation to each of them.
He underlined that safeguarding the lives of fishermen, who venture into the sea under risky conditions, remains a priority for the government. The Minister also directed officials and party representatives to actively promote awareness about the welfare schemes being implemented for the fishing community.
Leaders of the NDA coalition , party workers, and senior officials attended the programme.
