First Chargesheet Filed in TCS Nashik Harassment Case, SIT Submits 1,500 Page Report

The investigation into the alleged sexual harassment, exploitation and religious conversion case linked to the Nashik unit of Tata Consultancy Services has reached a crucial stage, with the city police filing the first chargesheet before a sessions court on Friday.

Prepared by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) , the nearly 1,500 page chargesheet details allegations against four accused, Danish Ejaz Sheikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan and Matin Majid Patel , in connection with a case registered at the Deolali Camp police station.

According to investigators, multiple serious charges have been invoked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) , including provisions related to criminal conspiracy, rape, sexual intercourse through deceitful means, sexual harassment, cheating, abetment and hurting religious sentiments. Sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have also been included in the case.

Police officials said the chargesheet contains several forms of digital and documentary evidence, including WhatsApp chat screenshots, email exchanges and communication records allegedly linked to both the accused and the complainants. These materials are expected to play a key role during the trial proceedings.

The case first drew public attention after eight women employees allegedly came forward with complaints of harassment and exploitation connected to the Nashik office of TCS. Following the complaints, one case was registered at Deolali Camp police station, while eight additional FIRs were lodged at Mumbai Naka police station.

Investigators have so far arrested eight persons in connection with the larger case. Among them is Matin Majid Patel , a corporator associated with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, who has been accused of allegedly sheltering co accused Nida Khan at his residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar while she was absconding.

After the allegations surfaced, TCS had stated that the company follows a zero tolerance policy towards harassment, coercion and misconduct at the workplace. The IT major also confirmed that employees allegedly linked to the incidents at the Nashik office had been suspended pending investigation.

The filing of the first chargesheet is being seen as a major development in a case that has sparked widespread discussion around workplace safety, abuse of authority and employee protection mechanisms in large corporate institutions.
