Fight Diseases Early: Citizens Can Now Report Outbreaks via IHIP Portal
The State Medical and Health Department has decided to involve the public in identifying infectious diseases at an early stage and taking immediate action. In this direction, the central government’s ‘Disease Surveillance’ program has developed the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) . Through its web link , the public can now submit complaints , as announced by State Medical and Health Commissioner Veerapandian .
Due to unhygienic surroundings , poor drainage systems , and contaminated drinking water , people in some areas are suffering from infectious diseases such as diarrhea and vomiting . In many cases, reports of these incidents take time to reach higher-level authorities through field staff. To overcome this, the government has decided to make people active participants in disease control , Veerapandian revealed.
Through the web link (https://ihip.mohfw.gov.in/cbs/#/?campaign_id=202511) , people from all districts of the state can report prevalent diseases and disease outbreaks in their areas. The platform allows users to fill in required information in the entry fields and also upload relevant photos .
The information submitted by the public reaches ANMs, Primary Health Center doctors, district officials, and state-level authorities within moments, the Commissioner explained. Based on these alerts , field staff and higher officials stay vigilant and take necessary action immediately .
Through this new initiative , the government appeals to citizens to actively cooperate in the prevention of infectious diseases .
