Field Visits by Collectors Aim to Improve Standards in Government Schools

District collectors across Telangana intensified field-level monitoring of government schools on Saturday, conducting surprise inspections to review infrastructure, sanitation, nutrition and the overall welfare of students.

The visits are part of the state administration’s broader push to strengthen public education through direct supervision and improved accountability at the ground level. Collectors from several districts inspected schools, interacted with students and staff, and issued instructions to ensure better facilities and academic standards.

In Vikarabad district , Collector Deepak Tiwari visited the Tribal Welfare Gurukul School at Thunkulagadda in Pargi mandal as part of the ongoing “99 Days Public Governance–Progress Plan.” During his visit, a health camp was organised for students, where he directed officials to strictly follow the government-prescribed menu to ensure students receive nutritious meals. He also instructed authorities to conduct regular medical check-ups and provide medicines whenever necessary.

Emphasising emergency preparedness, the collector suggested that students should be made aware of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) techniques that could help save lives during medical emergencies. He also inspected the school’s dining hall, kitchen and storage rooms to ensure proper hygiene and food safety standards. Tiwari also reviewed development activities in nearby Chigurlapalli and Govindapur villages during his visit.

Meanwhile, Komuram Bheem Asifabad District Collector K. Haritha carried out a surprise inspection at the Zilla Parishad Primary and Upper Primary School in Ainam village of Dahegaon mandal . She examined classrooms, the school premises and sanitation facilities. Stressing the importance of cleanliness, Haritha directed local Gram Panchayat workers to clean the school surroundings regularly and ensure proper disposal of plastic waste. She also instructed school authorities to maintain hygienic toilets and ensure that students receive mid-day meals according to the government’s nutrition guidelines.

In Jagtial district , Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha visited the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Choudaram village , where he reviewed hostel facilities, food arrangements and sanitation conditions. Interacting with students, he encouraged them to set clear goals for their future and work towards achieving them, noting that quality education remains the foundation for long-term success .

Officials said such inspections are intended to improve standards in government schools while reinforcing the administration’s commitment to student health, safety and quality education .
