In a rare and heartwarming cricketing moment, Afghanistan veteran Mohammad Nabi Eisakhil (41) and his 19-year-old son Hassan Eisakhil combined to put on a quickfire 53-run partnership, leading Noakhali Express to a convincing win over Dhaka Capitals in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26.
Batting together for the fourth wicket at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, the father-son pair stitched 53 runs in just 30 balls . Eisakhil, making his BPL debut, played a match-winning innings of 92 off 60 balls, while Nabi contributed 17 runs, adding experience to the explosive stand. Their partnership laid the foundation for Noakhali’s formidable total of 184/7 in 20 overs, also boosted by Soumya Sarkar’s quick 48 off 25 balls.
Dhaka Capitals struggled in response, losing wickets at regular intervals despite Mohammad Saifuddin’s late surge of 34 off 20 balls. Noakhali’s disciplined bowling attack, led by Hasan Mahmud (2-21 in 3.2 overs) and Nabi himself (2-23 in four overs), restricted the Capitals to 143 in 18.2 overs, sealing a 41-run victory.
This win marked Noakhali Express’ second consecutive triumph after a six-match losing streak, though they remain at the bottom of the BPL points table.
