

Fatal Crash Near Udaipur Claims Veteran Producer R. B. Choudary
The film industry is mourning the untimely death of veteran producer R. B. Choudary, whose death in a road accident near Udaipur has drawn widespread condolences .
Choudary was returning from a family wedding in Rajasthan when his car reportedly went out of control after cattle strayed onto the road, crashing into a wall. He died instantly in the accident.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow, calling the incident tragic and describing Choudary’s death as a significant loss to the film industry . He highlighted the producer’s contribution to Indian cinema through films in multiple languages and his role in supporting emerging talent.
Actor and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also paid tribute, stating that the news was both shocking and heartbreaking. He recalled Choudary’s role in shaping his early career, particularly with the success of Suswagatham , which helped him gain wide recognition. He also mentioned their collaboration on Annavaram , a film that connected strongly with family audiences.
Over a prolific career, Choudary produced nearly 100 films across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema. Known for balancing commercial appeal with strong storytelling, he earned a respected place in the South Indian film industry and was instrumental in promoting new talent .
Describing his passing as the loss of a major pillar of the industry, Pawan Kalyan conveyed his condolences to Choudary’s family, including his sons Jiiva and Jithan Ramesh.
The final rites will be held in Chennai, where members of the film fraternity are expected to gather to pay their final respects .
