FASTag annual pass fee revised to Rs 3,075 from April 1st

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the FASTag Annual Pass fee for the financial year 2026–27, increasing it from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075. The revised fee will come into effect from April 1, 2026.

According to NHAI, the revision has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, which governs the determination and collection of toll charges on national highways.

The FASTag Annual Pass facility is available for eligible non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag and can be used at around 1,150 toll plazas across National Highways and National Expressways in the country.

Under the scheme, private vehicle owners can avoid frequent FASTag recharges by paying a one-time fee that provides validity for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes earlier. The pass is aimed at making highway travel smoother and reducing waiting time at toll plazas.

The annual pass becomes active on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle within two hours of payment. Motorists can make the payment through the Rajmarg Yatra App or through the official website of the National Highways Authority of India.

While many commuters consider the Rs 75 hike marginal and continue to view the annual pass as a convenient and cost-effective option for frequent travel, some motorists say even a small increase in toll-related charges adds to their overall travel expenses, especially as they already bear rising fuel and highway toll costs.

The FASTag Annual Pass, introduced on Independence Day on August 15, 2025, has seen strong adoption among private vehicle owners, with more than 56 lakh users currently availing the facility across the country. Officials say the growing response reflects the increasing preference for seamless and digital toll payments on national highways.
