Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said land is a vital driver of development and that sustained progress depends on the voluntary participation of farmers. Speaking at a public meeting in Pamidimukkala during May Day programmes, he outlined the state’s priorities across capital development, investments, infrastructure, and welfare.

Referring to Amaravati , he described it as a globally noted greenfield capital project built on farmers’ trust. Nearly 29,000 farmers pooled about 33,000 acres under the land pooling system, with assurances of developed plots and annual returns. With construction progressing steadily, he said farmers are now willing to contribute an additional 16,000 acres in the next phase. Work on the Inner Ring Road is expected to begin soon.

On the investment front, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh is moving towards a technology-led economy. A proposed $15 billion investment by Google for an AI data centre and ₹1.7 lakh crore by Reliance Jio are expected to boost the state’s growth. He added that 3,000 acres have been allocated in Visakhapatnam for a steel city project.

Highlighting infrastructure, he said road works worth ₹574 crore are underway under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. Key roads, including the Machilipatnam bypass and Vijayawada–Machilipatnam route, are being expanded to six lanes, while the Hyderabad–Machilipatnam expressway is progressing. The Bandar Port project is targeted for completion by December.

Reiterating welfare commitments, Naidu said over 62 lakh beneficiaries are receiving pensions, with ₹63,000 crore spent on welfare schemes in the last 22 months. The government has allocated ₹615 crore for labour welfare and plans to establish 15 modern labour centres, which will also function as skill development hubs.

Criticising the previous administration led by Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, he alleged that major projects like the Polavaram Project were stalled, adding that the current government has restored development momentum.
