Faridabad factory fire: Two victims succumb to injuries

Two individuals injured in a massive fire at a factory in Mujesar have succumbed to their injuries, police confirmed on Friday.

Abhishek Monga (37), son of factory owner Vijay Monga, and Pradeep Kumar (21), a factory worker from Sanjay Colony, had suffered nearly 50 per cent burns and passed away during treatment at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital on Thursday night.

The two were among 37 people injured when a fire broke out at the Kalkaji Lubricants and Shiv Steel Company workshop on Monday. According to officials, a spark landed in a drum filled with chemicals, triggering a series of explosions .

Abhishek was reportedly injured while trying to rescue his father during the blaze. Vijay Monga, who has been booked in connection with the incident , also sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment in Delhi.

Following the accident, the district deputy commissioner ordered the formation of a seven-member investigation team , led by the Badhkal sub-divisional magistrate , to determine the cause and circumstances of the fire.

Police officials said that the remaining injured are being treated at various hospitals across the region. Two fire brigade personnel, Ranveer and Bhavichand , remain in critical condition with over 50 per cent burns , also admitted to Safdarjung Hospital .

The incident has raised concerns over factory safety measures and chemical handling protocols , prompting authorities to step up inspections in similar industrial units.
