EY, Microsoft empower youth for AI future

EY and Microsoft have launched the AI Skills Passport, a free online program aimed at building essential artificial intelligence (AI) skills among students and early-career professionals in India. The initiative, part of a global effort with over 40,000 participants worldwide, seeks to bridge the country’s growing AI skills gap and provide equal access to quality AI education for individuals aged 16 and above.

The self-paced program offers around 10 hours of learning content in English and Hindi, featuring modular video lessons, practical exercises, and assessments. Participants will gain knowledge in AI fundamentals, responsible AI practices, and real-world applications across sectors such as healthcare, finance, and technology. Additionally, the program supports job readiness through resume guidance, interview tips, and networking insights, culminating in a verifiable digital badge to enhance career profiles.

As part of EY Ripples, the company’s global corporate responsibility initiative, EY plans to collaborate with non-profit organisations to reach students from economically weaker backgrounds, offering mentorship and career guidance alongside AI education.

The partnership has already been recognised internationally, with Microsoft naming EY its Global Advisory Services Partner of the Year for five consecutive years, underscoring the impact of this initiative on developing future-ready talent in India.
