
Empowering SC, Building a Poverty-Free Future
The coalition government, under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, is prioritizing the welfare and development of Scheduled Castes (SCs) , aiming to build a poverty-free society , said Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy during the Legislative Assembly budget discussion.
For 2026-27, the Social Welfare Department has been allocated ₹11,118 crore , while the SC Sub-Plan received ₹20,643.57 crore , an increase of ₹362 crore to boost Dalit empowerment .
The government is focusing heavily on education , with ₹581 crore for hostel construction, ₹389 crore for pre-metric scholarships, and ₹323 crore for post-metric scholarships. In addition, 150 nursing students will receive free German language training with job placements in Germany. The number of IIT and NEET excellence centers in Ambedkar Gurukuls has increased to 10, helping 161 students excel in JEE Mains.
The administration has also revived 783 SC hostels, built additional toilets, and appointed female medical officers in every joint district. Students with serious illnesses are being treated under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
To support youth employment, free coaching is provided for civil services, SSC, and RRB exams. Free DSC coaching has already helped 300 candidates become teachers. Non-functional LID CAP units are being revived, with new footwear manufacturing units in Yadavalli and G. Konduru, creating jobs for local youth.
These initiatives underline the government’s commitment to SC empowerment, quality education, and youth skill development, fostering a more equitable society.
