Empathy, Vigilance and Innovation: CM Chandrababu's Message to Officials
Emphasising that governance must be driven by empathy as much as efficiency, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to adopt a human-centric approach while addressing public grievances and delivering government services. He said citizens should experience a responsive administration that not only resolves complaints quickly but also treats people with dignity and respect.
During a review meeting at the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) centre in the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister assessed the performance of various departments and underlined the need for greater accountability in public service. He instructed officials to ensure prompt disposal of petitions received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) and other channels, stressing that every complaint deserves careful and sympathetic consideration.
Naidu urged government employees to place themselves in the position of complainants while handling cases. Such an approach, he said, would help build public trust , improve service delivery and strengthen confidence in government institutions. Citizens visiting government offices should be treated courteously and their concerns addressed without unnecessary delays, he added.
Highlighting the changing nature of governance, the Chief Minister said administrative systems must continuously evolve to meet public expectations. He called for better utilisation of human resources , greater operational efficiency and a stronger focus on performance-based responsibilities. Encouraging officials to embrace innovation, he said creative thinking and problem-solving are essential for improving governance outcomes.
Naidu noted that technology has significantly simplified administrative processes and accelerated file clearances across departments. However, he cautioned that technology alone cannot guarantee effective governance unless it is supported by innovative ideas and a commitment to public service. To enhance administrative capabilities, the government is providing specialised training programmes on governance reforms and modern management practices.
The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the spread of misinformation on social media , warning that attempts are often made to give political, caste or religious colour to isolated incidents. He directed officials to remain vigilant and respond swiftly to false narratives that could create confusion or social tensions.
Referring to law and order, Naidu said some crimes are linked to mental health challenges , drug abuse and cannabis addiction. He revealed that authorities are reopening and pursuing cases pending since 2019 and reiterated that offenders cannot escape punishment indefinitely.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister asked officials to accelerate plans for Quantum Parks and Semiconductor Parks , while also preparing focused action plans on green cover expansion, sanitation, water security , groundwater conservation and river pollution control, aligning governance with both technological progress and sustainable development.
