The strike by electricity artisans in Telangana, which had created tension over the past few days, has been called off . The Artisans’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) announced the immediate withdrawal of the strike after the government responded positively to their demands following the intervention of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka .

On Friday morning, JAC leaders met the Deputy Chief Minister at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad . JAC convener Sailu expressed gratitude to the Deputy CM for facilitating discussions with senior officials and for the government’s constructive response towards resolving their issues. The electricity department artisans, who had been on strike for the past few days, subsequently resumed work.

During the meeting, the Deputy CM advised employees to discharge their duties in a manner that earns public trust . He noted that resorting to a strike, especially during the summer season when power demand is high , was not appropriate. He emphasised that issues should be resolved through dialogue rather than protests.

He assured that the government would examine the concerns of electricity workers with a humanitarian approach . The government, he said, is always ready to hold discussions with employees’ unions and remains committed to addressing their grievances.

He further stated that TRANSCO CMD Krishna Bhaskar would hold discussions with the Artisan JAC on issues that can be resolved without imposing a financial burden and work towards their resolution.

Among those present at the meeting were TRANSCO CMD Krishna Bhaskar, MLC Addanki Dayakar, Artisan JAC Chairman Satish Reddy, co-chairmen Chandar Reddy and Sridhar Goud, and treasurer Prashanth, among others.

With the strike being withdrawn, power supply and maintenance services across the state are expected to return to normal . Given the ongoing summer heat, there is widespread relief as artisans have resumed duties, ensuring no inconvenience to consumers.
