Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has made a striking announcement ahead of the upcoming village panchayat elections. He promised that any village in the Karimnagar Parliament constituency that elects a BJP-backed sarpanch unanimously will receive ₹10 lakh directly for development works.

Sanjay criticised previous BRS and Congress governments, saying their promises to villages were “empty words” and never translated into real support. “Even when unanimous elections happened earlier, not a single rupee reached the villages,” he alleged.

In a video posted on X on Tuesday night, Bandi Sanjay said: “If a BJP-supported sarpanch is elected unanimously, ₹10 lakh will be released immediately. I have PMPLADS funds available and will use them for village development. Only if BJP wins will funds come. If others win, even central funds may not reach,” he warned.

He added that he had already brought in crores of rupees through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions for education and healthcare in the region, and now, as a Union Minister, he can channel even more funds.

Bandi Sanjay also accused the previous BRS government of failing to support villages. “During the BRS regime, 70 villages in the Karimnagar area elected their sarpanch unanimously, but not a single rupee was given to them,” he stated.

The Telangana State Election Commission has announced that village panchayat elections will be held in three phases - December 11, 14, and 17. Nomination filing for the first phase begins today.
