Eight years after its release, Rangasthalam continues to hold a special place in Telugu cinema, reaffirming its status as a defining film in Ram Charan’s career. Directed by Sukumar, the period drama set in 1980s Andhra Pradesh struck a chord with audiences through its rooted storytelling and compelling performances.

The film featured Ram Charan in the role of Chitti Babu, a hearing-impaired villager who takes on entrenched corruption, alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Aadhi Pinisetty in pivotal roles. Backed by striking cinematography from R. Rathnavelu and a chart-topping soundtrack by Devi Sri Prasad, the film emerged as a major commercial and critical success, grossing over ₹216 crore worldwide .

Widely regarded as the biggest blockbuster of Ram Charan’s career, the film also earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor, further cementing his reputation as a versatile performer.

Marking the anniversary, production house Mythri Movie Makers shared behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot, offering fans a glimpse into the making of the film. Music composer Devi Sri Prasad described it as an “unforgettable movie,” while fans on social media revisited the legacy of Chitti Babu, often calling it one of the most iconic characters in recent Telugu cinema.

Meanwhile, Ram Charan is gearing up for his upcoming project Peddi, slated for release on April 30, adding to the anticipation among fans eager to see the actor return to the big screen.
