In a major development in ongoing anti Maoist operations, security forces have achieved a significant milestone after a series of coordinated actions led to the arrest of eight Naxals and the surrender of five Maoist functionaries , with police claiming that no Maoist now remains on the official "wanted list" .

According to officials, the arrests were made during intelligence based operations carried out across forested and remote regions with the support of security forces. The detained individuals were allegedly involved in multiple incidents of violence and were part of active Maoist formations operating in different states.

In a parallel development, five Maoist cadres surrendered before authorities , laying down arms as part of the ongoing crackdown. Police said the surrendered members included individuals holding key positions within the banned outfit, indicating a weakening of its organisational structure.

Officials stated that sustained joint operations have severely disrupted Maoist networks, leading to arrests, surrenders, and recovery of weapons in recent months. Earlier phases of operations also resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, Maoist literature, and cash from hideouts in forest areas.

Police further highlighted that continuous pressure from security forces has forced several cadres to either surrender or get neutralised, significantly reducing the operational strength of the outfit in the region.

With the latest arrests and surrenders, authorities claimed that the official "wanted list" has now been completely cleared , marking a major breakthrough in long running counter insurgency efforts.
