Eight Indians make ISSF final cut

India’s stellar 2025 shooting season received another boost with eight shooters, including double Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker, qualifying for the prestigious ISSF World Cup Final scheduled in Doha from December 4 to 9.

Bhaker will be India’s only double qualifier, having earned her place in both the women’s 10m air pistol and 25m pistol events. India will feature in five of the 12 Olympic events contested at the season-ending showpiece.

Teen prodigy Suruchi Singh headlines the women’s 10m air pistol line-up after capturing three successive World Cup golds in Buenos Aires, Lima, and Munich, which also propelled her to world No.1 ranking. Olympian Esha Singh joined her in the same event with a gold-winning effort at the Ningbo World Cup.

In men’s rifle, former world champion Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil qualified with a gold in Buenos Aires, while Olympian Arjun Babuta clinched his spot with a silver in Lima. Asian champion and world record-holder Sift Kaur Samra made the cut in women’s 50m rifle 3 positions after winning gold in Buenos Aires. Vijayveer Sidhu earned his berth in men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol, also through a gold at the same venue. Simranpreet Kaur Brar completed India’s line-up, securing a women’s 25m pistol slot with her silver in Lima.

Medalists in Doha will also receive prize money: 5,000 Euros for gold, 4,000 for silver, and 2,000 for bronze. More Indians may still qualify via the upcoming World Championships in Athens and Cairo.

India capped one of its finest World Cup seasons in 2025, bagging 22 medals: 9 gold, 6 silver, and 7 bronze to finish second overall in the standings.
