The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Rishi Raj Singh , a director of political consultancy firm Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) , for questioning on April 20 in a money laundering case linked to alleged hawala transactions , officials said on Sunday. Singh has been asked to appear before the agency at its Delhi office, where his statement will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Rishi Raj Singh is one of the founding directors of I-PAC, a political consultancy firm established in 2015 that provides election strategy and advisory services to several political parties, including those in power in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. The firm was co-founded by Singh, Vinesh Chandel (recently arrested by the ED), and Pratik Jain.

The ED probe stems from allegations of financial irregularities involving unaccounted funds and hawala transactions linked to payments received from political parties and other entities. Singh’s premises in Bengaluru were searched on April 2 as part of the investigation. His associate Vinesh Chandel was arrested on April 13 after questioning in Delhi and is currently in ED custody.

The case originates from a Delhi Police FIR against Indian PAC Consulting Pvt Ltd and its directors, alleging falsification of accounts and handling of unaccounted money. The ED has claimed it has found multiple instances of irregularities, including receipt of unaccounted funds, unsecured loans without business justification , issuance of bogus invoices, transactions through third parties, and movement of cash via hawala channels. The agency estimates the alleged proceeds of crime at around ₹50 crore .

Officials also said the case is linked to a broader coal scam investigation . Earlier raids on I-PAC’s Kolkata office in January triggered a political controversy after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the premises, alleging misuse of power by the ED. The agency later approached the Calcutta High Court and Supreme Court, alleging obstruction and seeking a CBI probe into the incident.
