ECI launches ‘Book-a-Call with BLO’ for voter roll verification in UP

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched a “Book-a-Call with BLO” facility to make voter services more accessible during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh, even as the claims and objections period remains open till February 6, 2026 .

The service allows voters to directly connect with their Booth Level Officer (BLO) to seek information or assistance regarding electoral rolls, including inclusion, deletion, or correction of voter details . Voters can book a call via the ECI portal (voters.eci.gov.in) or the ECINET mobile application . After logging in with a registered mobile number or signing up using an OTP, voters can enter their EPIC or reference number , or provide details such as state, district, assembly constituency, and booth number . The BLO will contact the voter within 48 hours .

The SIR in Uttar Pradesh aims to update and verify the voter list , ensuring that only eligible citizens are included . It involves removing ineligible voters , adding newly eligible voters, and correcting errors in existing details. According to the SIR Daily Bulletin, the draft electoral roll published recently retained 12.55 crore voters while excluding 2.89 crore names .

During the SIR, voters can submit claims for inclusion using Form 6 and file objections for deletion using Form 7 , with all required declarations. Generic complaints without these prescribed forms or declarations are not considered valid . The verification process involves BLOs confirming voter identity, age, and residence, with final additions or deletions made only after verification to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Political parties have appointed Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to collect claims and objections from the public. Till Friday, among national parties, the BSP submitted 1,53,469 inclusion claims , the BJP 1,60,605 , the Congress 94,591 , and the AAP 5,262 . Among state parties, the Samajwadi Party filed 1,56,972 inclusion claims while Apna Dal (S) submitted 5,397 . In addition, 32,290 claims and objections were received directly from voters after the draft roll’s publication.

Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, Navdeep Rinwa , appealed to voters to make maximum use of the new facility to resolve queries and ensure their details are correctly reflected in the final electoral roll.
