The murder of 21-year-old Delhi University student and fashion content creator Muskan Sharma in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar was pre-planned, with the accused allegedly purchasing a knife from a quick-commerce platform two days before the attack, police said in a chargesheet filed in a Tis Hazari court.

According to the over-350-page chargesheet, accused Imran Khan, 27, bought the knife on August 24 and allegedly killed Sharma at her home in Old Mahavir Nagar on August 26.

Police said Khan, who had known Sharma for around two years and was allegedly in a relationship with her for nearly one-and-a-half years, frequently contacted her and knew when she would be alone. He allegedly came to meet her before strangling her and stabbing her three times in the chest and abdomen.

The murder came to light about an hour later when Sharma's domestic help found her lying in a pool of blood, according to the chargesheet.

Police have named Digvijay Singh as an alleged accomplice, saying he helped Khan locate Sharma's residence, waited nearby during the killing, assisted his escape and later provided him shelter.

The chargesheet alleges Khan had been threatening and stalking Sharma and pressuring her to continue the relationship despite her refusal. Police also said he had allegedly procured an unlicensed weapon.

Investigators have recovered evidence of threatening messages allegedly sent by Khan and said he attempted to delete phone data and chats from Sharma's mobile phone.

Police have also collected CCTV footage from several locations, including hotels, restaurants and areas around Sharma's residence, where Khan and Sharma allegedly met between July and August.

A district-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to probe the case. Both accused are currently in judicial custody.

Police have invoked Sections 103(1) and 249 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, relating to murder and harbouring or concealing a person accused of an offence punishable with death.
