India’s cutting-edge defence technologies, including the BrahMos missile and Akash missile system , along with the Arjun Main Battle Tank and Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket System , will be showcased at a mega exhibition in Bihar from April 15 to 18, officials said on Monday.

The exhibition, organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation at the Mahatma Gandhi Prekshagrih in Motihari, aims to highlight India’s progress in defence innovation and its push towards self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Member of Parliament Radha Mohan Singh will inaugurate the event, themed ‘Shanti, Satya Aur Vigyan Ka Sangam – Surakshit Aur Aatmanirbhar Bharat Ki Aur’.

A wide array of missile systems will be on display. The BrahMos missile , a supersonic cruise missile developed with Russia, is known for its high speed and precision strike capability . The Akash missile system , an indigenous surface-to-air platform, is designed to intercept enemy aircraft and drones, while its upgraded version, Akash-NG , offers enhanced range and advanced targeting features.

Among tactical systems, the Prithvi missile , a short-range ballistic missile, and the Pralay missile , a newer solid-fuel system capable of high-speed precision strikes, will be showcased. India’s Anti-Satellite (A-SAT) missile , which demonstrated the country’s space defence capability, will also feature at the exhibition.

The display will further include anti-armour systems such as the NAG missile , a fire-and-forget anti-tank guided weapon, and the MPATGM , a lightweight, shoulder-fired missile designed for infantry operations.

In addition to missiles, key platforms like the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS), Pinaka MLRS, Arjun tank variants, Indian Light Tank, and the Uttam AESA radar will be exhibited. Technologies such as drone detection radar, chemical agent monitoring systems, composite armour, and a prototype of the Kaveri engine will also be presented.

The exhibition seeks to inspire youth and provide the public with a closer look at indigenous technologies strengthening India’s defence capabilities.
