'Don't End Our Dream': India Stars Make Emotional Plea to Tata Group to Save Jamshedpur FC

The uncertainty surrounding Jamshedpur FC has sparked an emotional response from its players, with senior India internationals and emerging talents urging the Tata Group to reconsider its decision to withdraw the club from the Indian Super League (ISL) and dismantle its senior men's team.

The club announced on Friday that it would pull out of the upcoming ISL season after missing the deadline to pay the participation fee, a move that stunned players, fans and the Indian football fraternity alike.

Veteran midfielder Pronay Halder, who has represented India in over 20 international matches, described the announcement as deeply shocking and appealed directly to the club's owners to rethink their decision.

Calling Jamshedpur FC "an emotion" rather than just a football club, Halder said it has played a crucial role in shaping the careers of countless footballers. Having spent six years with the club after graduating from the Tata Football Academy (TFA), he highlighted how the club has consistently provided a pathway for young talent to reach the highest level.

He pointed to players such as Nikhil Barla, Puya, Albino Gomes and Mohamed Sanan, who have recently earned opportunities with the Indian national team, saying Jamshedpur FC has become a stepping stone for aspiring footballers across the country.

Goalkeeper Albino Gomes, who made his India debut after reviving his career at Jamshedpur FC, echoed the sentiment. He said shutting down the club would be a huge setback not only for current players but also for the future of Indian football. Gomes credited the club for supporting him through injury and helping him return to the national team, describing the decision as difficult to accept.

Young midfielder Nikhil Barla, a homegrown talent from TFA, also made an emotional appeal. Saying everything he has achieved is because of Jamshedpur FC, Barla urged the Tata Group to consider the dreams of local and young footballers whose careers have been built around the club.

The appeals come as uncertainty continues over the future of one of Indian football's most professionally managed clubs, with players hoping the Tata Group will reverse its decision and keep alive a platform that has nurtured some of the country's brightest footballing talents.
