Dominant display: Shubhankar Sharma secures first Boulders Classic title

Two time European Tour winner Shubhankar Sharma marked a strong return to the domestic circuit by clinching the Boulders Classic in emphatic style on Friday.

Playing his first domestic event on the DP World PGTI circuit since December 2021, the 29 year old took full control of the tournament from the early rounds and never let the momentum slip away.

Sharma began with back to back six under 66s , quickly moving to the top of the leaderboard and building a solid foundation. His consistency earned him a two shot lead at the halfway stage, before he delivered a statement performance on Day 3.

He produced a stunning eight under 64 in the third round, featuring nine birdies and just one bogey , a score that also equalled the course record and effectively broke the contest open with a seven shot lead going into the final round.

With a comfortable cushion on the final day, Sharma played with a balanced mix of aggression and control, maintaining his rhythm under pressure to close out the title without trouble.

The win adds another highlight to Sharma’s career, which already includes two European Tour titles and two Asian Tour victories , reinforcing his reputation as one of India’s leading golfers on the global stage.
