DIGMIN 2025: Mining meets AI
The Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad inaugurated the two-day international conference, DIGMIN 2025, on September 12, 2025, as part of its centenary celebrations. The event, held at the Golden Jubilee Lecture Theatre, focuses on "Digital Intelligence for Green Mining and Industrial Networks," aiming to explore the integration of digital technologies in sustainable mining practices.
The conference has attracted over 150 technical papers from researchers and industry experts both from India and abroad. It is recognized as the country's first dedicated conference on Mining 5.0, emphasizing the six "S" principles: Safety, Sustainability, Smartness, Standardization, Simulation, and Synergy.
Keynote speakers and participants include professionals from various sectors of the mining industry, academia, and technology firms. The discussions are centered on the application of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital transformation in reducing the ecological impact of mining operations.
