Dhurandhar 2 trailer out: Power battle in Lyari as Ranveer Singh returns in brutal avatar

The trailer of Dhurandhar: The Revenge , popularly known as Dhurandhar 2 , was released on Saturday, sending fans into a frenzy with its gritty action, intense drama and the fierce return of Ranveer Singh in a brutal avatar . Directed by Aditya Dhar , the sequel promises a darker and more explosive continuation of the espionage saga set in Karachi’s Lyari underworld.

The nearly four-minute trailer opens with chaos following the death of the ruthless ganglord Rehman Baloch played by Akshaye Khanna , creating a power vacuum in Lyari’s criminal empire . Rival factions scramble for control as Ranveer Singh’s character, undercover operative Hamza Ali Mazari, rises within the underworld while secretly working as an Indian agent.

One of the most talked-about moments in the trailer shows the heroine holding a gun and preparing to shoot someone , triggering speculation that she might discover Hamza’s true identity. The glimpse also hints that the film may reveal the hero’s mysterious criminal past , which could play a crucial role in the emotional arc of the story.

The film features a strong ensemble including Sanjay Dutt , Arjun Rampal , R. Madhavan and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, advance bookings opened shortly after the trailer launch with cinemas introducing “Super Blockbuster Plus” ticket pricing for high-demand shows.

Interestingly, streaming giant Netflix once offered Rs 175 crore to acquire both Dhurandhar and its sequel together, but Aditya Dhar rejected the proposal believing the second film would earn far more.

The decision appears to have paid off. The sequel alone has reportedly secured a Rs 150 crore OTT deal with Netflix , while satellite rights sold for Rs 50 crore and music rights were acquired by T-Series for Rs 45 crore .

Altogether, the film has generated around Rs 250 crore pre-release revenue , even before hitting theatres.

The first film was reportedly banned in theaters in Pakistan , but it still became #1 on Netflix in the country , showing huge audience interest. While there is no official confirmation yet, the sequel could face a similar situation.

Although scheduled to release mainly in Hindi, fans across India including Tollywood audiences are eagerly waiting for the action spectacle ahead of its March 19 release.
