Dharmendra Pradhan launches building Bharat buildathon 2025

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan virtually inaugurated the Building Bharat Buildathon 2025 in New Delhi on Monday, emphasizing the importance of innovation, technology, and the Swadeshi spirit in building a self-reliant and developed India. Addressing students across the nation, he urged them to contribute creative solutions to India’s key challenges and take pride in indigenous innovation.

Speaking to ANI, Pradhan said the initiative marks a new chapter in India’s journey toward development with the active participation of its youth. The nationwide hackathon jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, Atal Innovation Mission, and AICTE focuses on the themes “Swadeshi,” “Vocal for Local,” “Atmanirbhar Bharat,” and “Innovation for Prosperity.”

Over three lakh schools across rural and urban areas are participating in the Buildathon, encouraging lakhs of students to transform ideas into practical solutions. The initiative aims to nurture a generation of young innovators who can address real-world challenges like climate change, water scarcity, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

Highlighting the long-term impact, Pradhan said the Buildathon will help students develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills essential for the 21st-century workforce. It will also strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem by connecting young minds with mentors, researchers, and industries, creating future entrepreneurs and technology leaders.

Inspiring the students, Pradhan referred to former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, saying, “Like Kalam, who turned his childhood dream into a national achievement, today’s school children will create history not just for India but for the world.” He added, “Bhar lo Udaan, Chu lo Aasmaan.”

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for envisioning the Atal Innovation Mission and emphasized that India can become a developed nation only by adopting new technologies and fostering a producing economy.

The event also featured interactions between students and officials, including Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Atal Innovation Mission Director, and AICTE Chairman, where participants shared innovative ideas to address issues like illegal mining, terrorism, and local development.
