Dharma Productions Announces Ambitious Radha-Krishna Epic, Film to Go on Floors in 2027

Karan Johar is taking Dharma Productions into new cinematic territory with an ambitious big-budget mythological epic centred on Lord Krishna and the timeless love story of Radha and Krishna.

The film will be written and directed by Sachin Ravi, best known for the acclaimed Kannada adventure comedy Avane Srimannarayana. With the project, Ravi is set to take on a much larger canvas, bringing one of Indian mythology’s most enduring figures to the big screen on an epic scale.

The yet-untitled film is expected to chronicle Krishna’s life from his birth, exploring key episodes from his journey, including his confrontation with the tyrannical king Kansa. At the emotional core of the narrative, however, will be the enduring bond between Radha and Krishna, giving the story a strong blend of mythology, romance, drama and spectacle.
