DGCA greenlights AVPL Hisar RPTO to empower young drone pilots

AVPL International Pvt. Ltd., a leading Indian drone company, on Tuesday announced that its Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) in Hisar, Haryana, has received official approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This approval allows AVPL to conduct training for aspiring remote pilots under India’s Drone Rules, 2021, in compliance with Rule 34A of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.

The Hisar RPTO aims to empower young men and women with advanced drone skills for applications across agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, logistics, security, and environmental projects. The initiative is also part of AVPL’s strategy to position Hisar as a hub for skill development and employment in drone technology.

AVPL International has previously established RPTOs in Indore, Gandhinagar, and Jaipur, and has trained hundreds of certified drone pilots across India. The Hisar facility is equipped with classrooms, drone simulators, a 200m x 200m flight training ground, and maintenance facilities, meeting DGCA standards for RPTO infrastructure.

The RPTO also maintains a team of DGCA-certified Remote Pilot Instructors (RPIs) with valid Remote Pilot Licenses (RPLs) and extensive flight experience. Trainees at the Hisar centre will undergo DGCA-approved curriculum, including theoretical lessons, simulator-based training, and practical flight operations. All training records will be maintained digitally through the DGCA DigitalSky portal, ensuring full regulatory compliance.

The approval aligns with India’s broader strategy to develop a skilled drone workforce to support emerging sectors such as precision agriculture, industrial inspection, logistics, and environmental monitoring. By creating employment opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas, AVPL International’s Hisar RPTO also contributes to regional skill development initiatives.
