Deva Katta Reportedly Joins Jr NTR–Prashanth Neel Film to Strengthen Dialogues

Acclaimed filmmaker Deva Katta is reportedly on board to contribute dialogues for the much-anticipated film starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel. The project, tentatively titled Dragon or NTRNeel , is currently in production and is expected to hit theatres worldwide on June 11, 2027.

According to trade sources, Katta has been brought in to pen impactful lines for key sequences, a move seen as an effort to elevate the film’s writing. Neel, known for blockbuster spectacles such as KGF and Salaar, has often been praised for his visual scale and action design. However, some critics have pointed out that the dialogues in his previous films lacked depth. The reported inclusion of Katta, known for his strong writing, is expected to address that aspect.

Katta rose to prominence with Prasthanam , a critically acclaimed political drama that later achieved cult status for its intense storytelling and powerful dialogues. Over the years, he has built a reputation for crafting narratives rooted in social and political realities, with films like Republic further showcasing his thematic depth.

The upcoming film is planned as a two-part action saga and features a notable ensemble cast including Rukmini Vasanth, Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, and Aleksandar Mizev. Shooting has been underway since 2025, with major portions filmed at Ramoji Film City.

Industry observers note that the combination of Neel’s large-scale vision, Jr NTR’s screen presence, and Katta’s dialogue-writing strengths could result in a more balanced cinematic experience.
