Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan launches telugu translation of Lakshmi M. Puri’s “ Swallowing the Sun”

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan participated in the launch of the Telugu translation of the acclaimed book Swallowing the Sun , authored by prominent Indian diplomat Lakshmi M. Puri, at Tummalapalli Kalakshetra, Vijayawada. The Telugu version of the book has been released under the title “ Aame Suryudini Kabalinchindi”.

During the event, Pawan Kalyan unveiled the book and addressed the gathering, commending Lakshmi M. Puri for her illustrious diplomatic career spanning over two decades, and for her contributions toward highlighting women’s empowerment and achievements through literature. He noted that the novel beautifully portrays the life, struggles, and resilience of women during the Indian freedom movement, encapsulated through the central character, Malati.

Lakshmi M.Puri, who has served as the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Deputy Executive Director of UN Women, was praised for her literary contribution in bringing women’s stories, struggles, and triumphs to a wider readership.

The book launch underscored the significance of celebrating women’s empowerment and the enduring legacy of those who fought for freedom, inspiring readers across generations.
