Deputy CM holds key meeting on Legislative Assembly operations

Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka convened a crucial meeting with senior officials at the First Assembly Hall in the Legislative Assembly complex to discuss the upcoming legislative sessions, procedural management, and safeguarding democratic values.

Highlighting the Assembly as a symbol of democracy, the Deputy CM emphasized that officials must conduct themselves with utmost diligence and responsibility. IT and Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu also participated in the discussions.

During the meeting, the Deputy CM stressed the importance of transparency and efficiency in Assembly operations. He instructed officials to ensure that ministers and legislators receive complete and timely information on all matters, enabling meaningful debates, question-and-answer sessions, bills, and resolutions.

He pointed out that providing accurate data and factual information to elected representatives when raising public concerns strengthens democratic principles. Officials were reminded that even minor lapses could affect the credibility and dignity of the Assembly.

The Deputy CM also called for improved inter-departmental coordination and timely consolidation of information for presentation during the sessions. He urged every official to fulfill their responsibilities effectively so that the Assembly sessions proceed smoothly, respectfully, and in the true spirit of democracy.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to conducting highly democratic and accountable sessions, he noted that ministers are attending fully prepared, and officials must be readily available with all necessary information.

Deputy CM Vikramarka added that Assembly and Council proceedings are broadcast live across the state and country, and the successes of governance must be reflected accurately in these sessions. He warned that publishing unverified information related to the assemblies in the media would be considered a violation of legislative rights.

Minister Sridhar Babu echoed the importance of enhancing the dignity and prestige of the legislative process. He instructed officials to have complete information ready on Zero Hour questions, pending reports, and commitments. The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Assembly and Council secretaries, and several senior officials.
