Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Unveils ₹100 Crore for Divyang Welfare

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the government is wholeheartedly committed to empowering persons with disabilities (Divyangs) in the state. Speaking at a beneficiaries’ meeting held in Madhira, Khammam district , he highlighted that developmental progress , which had remained elusive for over a decade, was achieved in just two years . He revealed that the government has spent ₹100 crore in this short span specifically for the welfare of Divyangs .

Emphasizing support in the education sector , the Deputy CM said the government provides modern technological tools such as iPads, computers, and tablets to Divyang students . “These resources not only offer equal educational opportunities but also help them become self-reliant in the future,” he noted.

Bhatti Vikramarka clarified that the government’s focus goes beyond financial aid , aiming to provide a dignified life, employment opportunities, and social equality for persons with disabilities. He assured that every Divyang would receive full support from the government to move forward in society with confidence .

He added that inclusive development is possible only when all sections of society are involved and that true equality can be achieved with active participation of Divyangs . “The government remains steadfast in its commitment to the empowerment of persons with disabilities ,” he emphasized.

Key Initiatives for Singareni Workers

The Deputy CM also highlighted several measures taken to address the concerns of Singareni workers . These include promptly resolving name change issues , reviewing medical invalidation cases through medical boards , and establishing a special committee to ensure workers receive benefits in line with Coal India regulations .

He assured support for housing to help workers achieve their dream homes and announced the implementation of ₹1.25 crore accident insurance for permanent workers , setting a national benchmark . Additionally, around 30,000 contract workers have been provided ₹40 lakh in free accident insurance .

The age limit for compassionate appointments has been raised from 35 to 40 years , and since assuming office, the government has filled 2,539 positions . Plans are underway to upgrade Singareni hospitals into super-specialty centers .

Bhatti Vikramarka further noted that Singareni achieved a profit of ₹6,394 crore in 2024–25 , of which ₹802 crore was shared with the workers .
