Deputy CM Bhatti urges India to move forward with knowledge, not superstitions

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized that India should not live in the shadow of superstitions but should advance as a nation guided by knowledge and scientific thinking. Speaking at an event, he highlighted the importance of building a development-focused nation based on research, technology, and education rather than outdated beliefs.

The Deputy CM noted that competing with rapidly developing nations requires India to take a leading role in science and technology. He credited the foundation for India’s scientific outlook to the country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who introduced a scientific approach and strongly supported research, education, and technical institutions. Nehru’s vision laid the groundwork for modern India through initiatives like IITs, research centers, dams, and large industries.

Bhatti also praised former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi for giving a new direction to India’s science and technology sector. By introducing computers, telecommunications, and modern information technology, Rajiv Gandhi helped build the infrastructure that supports India’s digital networks and software industry today.

Highlighting India’s achievements in space, Bhatti pointed out that projects like Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan have proven that India can reach the Moon and Mars, demonstrating the power of scientific vision and leadership.

He concluded by acknowledging the role of the Indian National Congress in steering India toward a path of knowledge and development, stating that the party has historically championed science and technology as the key to progress.
