Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka has strongly criticized misleading reports targeting Singareni Collieries , describing ABN Radhakrishna’s “Tholi Paluku” stories as completely fabricated and harmful to the morale of workers . He questioned whose interests lie behind these narratives and emphasized that his focus remains on public welfare , efficient governance , and asset protection .

Vikramarka clarified that tenders and related files do not come to him or the state government . As an autonomous organization , Singareni follows fully transparent procedures under its board and senior officials , leaving no scope for political interference . He noted that the “ site visit certificate ” requirement for the Naini coal block tenders has been in effect since 2018 , appearing in tender documents from 2018, 2021, and 2023 , and is not a new policy. Similar practices exist in Coal India, IITs, IIMs, Defence, Finance, and other PSUs across India.

Regarding diesel supply , Vikramarka explained that no other public sector company or government department provides diesel directly to contractor vehicles . While this is a long-standing practice in Singareni, uniform diesel allocations are impractical due to varying vehicle mileage . He cited past diesel misappropriations in two regions that became major scams , with vigilance cases still ongoing , and stressed that Singareni management has been instructed to implement strict vigilance systems to prevent misuse.

He also highlighted the financial impact of GST on coal, which has increased from 5% to 18% , warning that without proper input–output balance , the burden could fall on Singareni, causing severe financial losses .

On the issue of tender cancellations , Vikramarka stated that the decisions were made to protect Singareni’s interests , maintain transparency , and prevent baseless allegations . He reaffirmed that Singareni is Telangana’s pride , and no action will be allowed to harm the company .
