
Delivery executive killed while trying to stop street fight in Delhi
A 32-year-old food delivery executive was tragically stabbed to death after he attempted to intervene in a violent altercation between two groups in Dwarka, southwest Delhi , police said on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Govind Jha , a resident of Mohan Garden , had been on his way to work on Sunday night when he came across a street fight in the Rajapuri area of Madhu Vihar .
According to police officials, the clash involved two men and a group of three others Parvesh, Anish, and Rohit . Witnessing the confrontation, Jha reportedly stopped and tried to defuse the situation. However, in a sudden escalation, the assailants allegedly pulled out knives and began attacking the three men. When Jha intervened, he too was fatally assaulted .
All four injured individuals were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Jha succumbed to his injuries during treatment , while the other three remain under medical observation.
Police said the attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident , and multiple teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend the accused .
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh urged the public not to spread misinformation, cautioning against attempts to give the incident a communal angle .
“There is no communal aspect to this case. The victims belong to different communities, and all were attacked indiscriminately,” the officer said, adding that strict action will be taken against those spreading false narratives online.
The incident has sparked concern over rising street violence , highlighting the dangers faced by civilians who step in to prevent conflicts.
