Deliver better public services in the New Year: CM Chandrababu Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday stressed that government services must become faster, more efficient, and clearly visible to the public across all departments. He said there should be no delays in delivering services to citizens and that the “speed of delivery” must reflect the government’s commitment to good governance.

Speaking at a review meeting with senior officials at the RTGS Centre in the Secretariat, the Chief Minister directed ministers and top officers to go beyond office work and regularly visit the field to conduct surprise inspections. He said public services and welfare schemes should be continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure effective implementation.

The Chief Minister noted that the government is currently providing around 800 different civic services through various departments and said their quality must be further improved. He urged the entire administrative machinery to work with renewed energy in the new year and ensure that high-quality services reach ordinary citizens.

Referring to agriculture, Chandrababu Naidu said government financial support in recent times has helped reduce farmer suicides significantly. He asked officials to continue this approach and provide even better services and support to farmers.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the Swachh Andhra-Swarna Andhra programme aimed at making the state cleaner. He set a target of recycling at least 50 percent of solid waste generated in rural areas. He instructed officials to use sanitation vehicles effectively, convert wet waste into compost, and transport dry waste to power generation plants through a well-planned logistics system. Public participation should be encouraged, and sanitation should be managed in a systematic manner, he said.

In a major decision, the government has decided to redesign village and ward secretariats and rename them as “Swarna Gramams.” The Chief Minister said these centres will play a key role in achieving the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 and will function as “vision units” at the grassroots level. Official orders regarding this change are expected to be issued within a day or two.

Highlighting the importance of technology, Chandrababu Naidu called for expanding bandwidth and improving digital connectivity in rural areas. He said best practices in implementing welfare schemes should be adopted across all departments. To collect public feedback, he suggested using innovative tools such as Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and QR codes.

Later, along with Minister Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, the Chief Minister released the Swarna Gramam-Swarna Ward Department 2026 Calendar. Ministers, Chief Secretary Vijayanand, and senior officials from various departments attended the meeting.
