Delhi police honours Vashist for solving 155 cases, tops outer North district

In a notable recognition of grassroots policing, Head Constable Sanjay Kumar Vashist of the Samaypur Badli police station has been declared the Best Investigating Officer of Delhi Police’s Outer North district for the first quarter of 2026.

The honour was conferred by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami following a comprehensive performance review covering January to March. Vashist stood out for disposing of 155 cases within three months , reflecting both efficiency and consistency in investigation.

A seasoned officer known within the department for his methodical approach, Vashist has built a reputation for swift case resolution, meticulous documentation, and strong coordination with prosecution teams . Colleagues describe him as a committed field officer who balances investigative rigour with community engagement, often ensuring that pending cases are pursued to logical closure without procedural delays.

Police officials said the quarterly assessment focused on case disposal rates, quality of investigation, and overall contribution to policing outcomes , aimed at improving accountability and operational efficiency across sub-divisions.

In the same review, Inspector Shailendra Singh Jhakhar , also from Samaypur Badli police station, was named the Best Station House Officer, while Assistant Commissioner of Police Rakesh Kumar led the best-performing sub-division in the district.

The recognition highlights the role of consistent on-ground policing in strengthening the criminal justice system and underscores the Delhi Police’s emphasis on performance-driven evaluation mechanisms .

Senior officers noted that such initiatives not only reward merit but also motivate personnel across ranks to maintain high standards in investigation and public service.
