
Delhi police crack horrific murder case of UPSC aspirant in Gandhi Vihar
In a shocking development, Delhi Police have made a major breakthrough in the brutal murder of a 32-year-old UPSC aspirant, Ramkesh Meena, whose charred body was discovered earlier this month in Gandhi Vihar. Police have arrested three people in connection with the case: the victim’s live-in partner, her former boyfriend, and his associate. Investigations revealed that blackmail over explicit videos was the main motive behind the gruesome crime.
Harassment Led to Murder
According to the police, the 21-year-old woman, a B.Sc. student in Forensic Science, was living with Meena. The victim had allegedly recorded her intimate videos and later began to harass her, refusing to delete them. Distressed, the woman confided in her ex-boyfriend, who, along with his friend, conspired to eliminate Meena. All three accused hail from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Attempt to Destroy Evidence
The crime came to light on October 6, when firefighters responded to a call about a fire reportedly caused by an air conditioner explosion. Upon extinguishing the flames, Meena’s severely burnt body was discovered in the flat. Police later determined that after killing Meena, the accused poured kerosene and alcohol on the body and set it ablaze to destroy evidence. To make the incident appear accidental, the woman’s ex-boyfriend an LPG distributor opened the gas cylinder valve and ignited it, causing a minor explosion. The trio then fled with Meena’s hard drives, laptops, and other belongings.
CCTV Footage Unravels the Plot
During the investigation, CCTV footage showed two masked men entering the victim’s apartment, and later, around 2:57 a.m., the woman was seen leaving with one of them. Analysis of her call records placed her near the crime scene at the time of the incident. Based on these findings, police detained her on October 18 in Moradabad. Her interrogation led to the arrest of the remaining two suspects.
Delhi Police have recovered key evidence, including Meena’s electronic devices, and are continuing their investigation to build a watertight case.
