In a major counter-terrorism operation, Delhi Police has dismantled two Pakistan-backed terror modules allegedly linked to gangster Shahzad Bhatti , arresting six operatives accused of plotting attacks in the national capital and trafficking illegal weapons.

According to investigators, the two groups functioned independently but were coordinated by separate Pakistan-based handlers allegedly working on behalf of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) . Police recovered three petrol bombs, three pistols, five live cartridges, mobile phones, cash, a stolen motorcycle , and two vehicles allegedly used in the conspiracy.

The first module, allegedly directed by Rana Hunain , was tasked with carrying out a petrol bomb attack on a vital installation or police establishment in Delhi . Police arrested Danish alias Chand Miya (24) and Salman (20) from the Vijay Ghat area before the alleged plan could be executed.

Investigators said Danish came into contact with Hunain through social media in April and allegedly conducted reconnaissance of potential targets. He was reportedly promised Rs 20,000 upon completing the attack. Salman, police claimed, was assigned to record the assault and was offered a similar payment.

The second module allegedly operated under Hassan Gujjar , another Pakistan-based associate of Bhatti. Police arrested Tayyab (27) , Jubair Khan (24) and Ali Fazal (26) near Kalindi Kunj , while Malkiat Singh (36) was later apprehended in Punjab .

Investigators alleged the group received drone-smuggled weapons from across the international border for distribution in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh , with proceeds intended to finance terror and criminal activities.

Police said Malkiat Singh allegedly collected the consignments before passing them to network members for further distribution. Officials are examining seized digital devices, communication records and financial transactions to identify additional associates and determine whether the suspects were connected to other terror or organised crime operations.

Further investigation is underway , with security agencies working to uncover the full extent of the alleged cross-border network.
